Government of India Ministry of Communications Department of Posts – GDS Section Notification No.: 17-12/2026-GDS Notification Date: 20 August 2026 Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) Online Engagement Schedule-II, July 2026 Applications are invited from eligible candidates for engagement as Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) in different offices of the Department of Posts. Posts: 1. Branch Postmaster (BPM) 2. Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM) 3. Dak Sevak Eligibility: Candidates must have passed the Secondary School Examination (10th standard) with passing marks in Mathematics and English from a recognized Board. Candidates must also have studied the prescribed local language up to at least the 10th standard. Other qualifications include knowledge of computers and knowledge of cycling. Age Limit: Minimum Age: 18 years Maximum Age: 40 years Age relaxation is applicable for eligible categories as per the official notification. TRCA / Pay: BPM: ₹12,000 to ₹29,380 ABPM / Dak Sevak: ₹10,000 to ₹24,470 Selection Process: Candidates will be shortlisted through a system-generated merit list based on marks obtained in the 10th standard Secondary School Examination. Shortlisted candidates will undergo physical verification of original documents. Online One-Time Registration: 31 August 2026 to 19 September 2026, up to 5:00 PM Online Application and Fee Payment: 2 September 2026 to 21 September 2026, up to 5:00 PM Edit/Correction Window: 23 September 2026 to 24 September 2026, up to 5:00 PM Location: Vacancies are available across different postal circles and divisions in India.
